I actually think it turned out fabulous! There's just something about gray-scaled paintings that really appeal to me. I love how medium-key yours is too, it seems very soft and mellow even if there is no color.

The collarbone area, the hands and arms all look astoundingly realistic. The way you tilted the brush and blended makes the ripples look like muscles. It looks really good!

I'm in love with his expression too, it's so calm, like he's relishing the quiet. I love his nose (lol I'm weird), mainly because the shape is so pleasant and the highlight is perfect. The painterly, slightly more messy wings add a neat touch to the image.

The only critique would just be the left part of the painting, where the light hits him the most. Some light shading to insinuate more shadow would do nicely, and it would be even better if you painted over the lines- it looks realistic but cartoony at the lines, if that makes sense.

Overally I really, really like this picture and I think you're improving so rapidly! Awesome job.
